Happy Easter and the Question of the Week!

Christ is risen! He has risen indeed!

Part of a Meditation on Mark 16:1-8 from Parables and Passion: Jesus' Stories for the Days of Lent:

"...The young man tells the women that Jesus is going ahead to Galilee, where they and the disciples will see him. Galilee is a place where encounters with the risen Jesus do occur. But on another level, Galilee carries a deeper meaning as to where the risen Jesus may be seen.

Galilee, for most of the disciples and the women, is home. Galilee is the place where people reared families, exercised vocations, and played out the ordinary rhythm of life and death. The news of Easter is not sounded primarily for the sake of sanctuaries adorned with lilies, where you might expect to hear such proclamation. The news of Easter is taken back to all the usual and familiar places of our living, where death's defeat is not a given. The possibility of new life and rebirth needs exhoing in settings where we spend the vast majority of our time and energy, where our fears can be very real. We are Easter people: not because of where we spend Easter morning but because of how we bring Easter to our other days."

Think about where and to whom Easter might lead you and our youth group to witness to justice, kindness, mercy, forgiveness, hope, grace and love in word and/or deed. Then, this day or this week, allow God to help you follow through.
