Here are some questions that may help you and your parents engage in conversation about the "Save Darfur" presentation yesterday and how God may be calling you to respond. If you are up for sharing any of your reflections, leave a comment below. Some of these questions come from "Everybody Wants to Change the World: Practical Ideas for Social Justice", by Gordon Aeschliman and Tony Campolo.
1. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11. How is this Scripture calling us to live in the world?
2. Read 1 Samuel 3:1-18. How did God work through Samuel? What caused Samuel to listen to God? When Samuel took action and responded to the Lord, whom did the message influence?
3. What special challenges do the issues prevalent today bring to the Body of Christ?
4. What can we do to meet these challenges?
5. How would those particular actions demostrate the love of Jesus Christ to our culture?
6. Do the actions of Christians today demonstrate the love of Christ? How could those actions be shifted to more fully demonstrate Christ's love?
Blessings as you walk the way of faithful discipleship!
