New Youth Pastor!

Chris Allen

Belmont is welcoming Chris Allen as our new Youth Pastor. He will begin his work at Belmont in early June. Chris was born and raised in Tampa, FL. He grew up at Hyde Park United Methodist Church. Chris received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis in History, Religious Studies, and American Culture Studies. He also played offensive line for four years at Washingon University. Chris first felt God's call to full-time ministry while working as a camp counselor in North Carolina. After college Chris enrolled in Duke Divinity School with a concentration in Christian Education and completed his Master of Divinity degree in 2010. Most recently Chris has served First United Methodist Church in Cookeville as the Coordinator of Children and Youth Discipleship.

Chris married his wife, Erica, in July of 2010. He says, "We are house divided during basketball season as Erica is a Carolina grad." Erica will begin Vanderbilt Divinity School in the fall as a Turner Scholar. They have a yorkie-poodle named Cadbury. Erica and Chris enjoy running and Florida Gators football!
