Massive Cyclone Hits Burma
On Friday night, a massive cyclone (hurricane) hit Burma. It is estimated that between 4,000 and 10,000 people have been killed. As the death toll from the devastating cyclone over the weekend escalated, there were reports that hundreds of thousands of people were homeless and that food and water were running short. It is believed by the United States Campaign for Burma, that hundreds of thousands are without shelter and many more homes lost their roofs. Tens of thousands of people are missing.
Today in your prayers remember the people of Burma and the members of our congregation who have friends and family in Burma during this time. A number of our friends of the Golden Triangle Fellowship have no way of contacting friends and family in Burma.
Check your favorite news source for more information about the tragedy, may it give shape to your prayers, both spoken and unspoken.
You are invited to share prayer request for our local, national and global community with me via email or phone. Together we can discern a way to share the request with others.
Peace of Christ be with you.
